Two hours is usually the minimum time requirement to choreograph and teach an effective scene of violence. For longer scenes, or productions with multiple scenes of violence, more time will be needed. Fights may require a second day to correct and refine moves choreographed in the first session.
Workshops are a great way to introduce actors to the techniques and concepts that make stage combat so effective. These classes are a great way to prepare actors of any calibre to execute great scenes of illusory violence. A minimum of one hour is required, but two gives the best results.
